I feel like today was better than last week Tuesday in some regards. I definitely felt like I knew what I was supposed to be doing, but it didn’t go according to my plan.
So one thing I have already learned is that I need to plan my day and try to stick with it. Today, for example, I had planned to spend part of the day in a consultant meeting, but then it started when I was busy and I didn’t feel like interrupting, SOOOO I ended up spending most of my day in the kitchen. This was okay, but I didn’t accomplish some mission objectives.
I think I need to try and start taking Jon’s advice and plan tomorrow today. Tomorrow I have a meeting with Eric, I am spending breakfast in the kitchen, and I have to do EOD. Additionally, I think I like the advice to choose a Top 3 things, but I feel like I should have a Second 3 as well. Blocking my schedule is going to be important, but given that the restaurant business is not predictable, I also need to be flexible with my blocks. Sigh.
I was really annoyed to come home and have Andy tell me he had been home for an hour but hadn’t done anything about dinner. It was 8pm and I needed to get some schoolwork done, as well as do my schedule checks for work. But instead I had to come up with dinner on the fly. Going forward I now know to plan on eggs, buying dinner from work, or suffering through whatever he has prepared for Tuesday nights. It was just really annoying and ate up an hour that I didn’t have.
On the plus side, I got my first Stitch Fix today. Wow, is it expensive. But the pieces inside are fabulous. I probably won’t have a chance to try them all on and style them until Thursday, but I’m looking forward to being able to do so. Just thinking about wearing the blazer in that box makes me swoon.
Wednesday church starts again tomorrow. Meh. I also have to figure out dinner. My goal of cooking three times a week is a tough one!
