9/11

Another year, another anniversary. I kinda am thinking we will never plan to do something for our anniversary again. This year we planned ahead to go out to dinner, and wouldn’t you know, Andy got sent out of town. So my original day looked like needing to work for an hour, then spending the day doing school work. Then my nephew had a soccer game and I said I wanted to go see it since I was suddenly available and not going out to dinner with Andy.

So my plans had to shift, because I needed to leave by 2:30. No problem, right?

Well, My hour at work lasted quite a bit longer (on my day off), and then when I got home, I ate something quick and then remembered that I had an hour of Mindset Reboot at noon. Oy. So I did that, and then took the computer into the kitchen because while listening to Jon, I got a text asking if we could watch a dog tomorrow… and I thought of the nasty dirty dishes all over the kitchen, so I did dishes while listening to one of my lectures for school. But I got zero actual schoolwork done.

So off to Seymour I go, where I learned that Mom and Dad were making a celebratory meal while we were at the soccer game. Only, we drop Eli off and then it suddenly seems as if there are no other parents there. There’s no activity on the fields, no cars. So we find a kid and learn that there actually isn’t a game… So we make plans in the car to go home and watch a movie since I was there anyway. We get to the house and mention the movie to mom and dad, who quickly put the brakes on that one because there’s a Packer game. Whoops!

So then we have dinner- lamb chops and fried pickles and apple pie. And three glasses of wine. Lol! It was a nice time with family, and as I’m debating what time I wanted to leave (while sipping on glass #3), Abbi texts asking me when I’ll be home to go get drinks.

Oops. Forgot about that. So rush home to meet up at the wine bar. We walk in the door and we’re told they were closing early. That’s just totally how the day tracked!! Nothing happened as it should have- not even plans made just an hour prior. It was wild.

So drinks at Holidays did actually happen- and with a football game on, that meant shots with a touchdown. So now I’ve had a fair amount to drink tonight and I have to wake up before 6:30 in the morning to be ready to receive a dog. Oy.

And no schoolwork got done today. So maybe tomorrow I’ll be able to knock a couple of discussion posts out before I go to work- especially if I am awake at 6:30. Wish me luck. Hopefully today’s “nothing is going according to plan” will end when I head upstairs in a moment to go to bed.

Tomorrow is a new day.
